01 About

A headline that gets found and still sounds like you

Your LinkedIn headline follows your name everywhere on the platform — search results, comments, invitations, the feed. It is also one of the strongest signals LinkedIn search uses to decide whether you appear for a role or skill someone is looking for. This free AI headline generator turns your role into eight versions, each built on a different formula: role plus outcome, who you help, a proof point, a keyword stack, and a plain-spoken one-liner.

Front-load the words people would actually type. "B2B Content Strategist" earns searches; "Storyteller | Dreamer | Coffee Enthusiast" earns none. You have 220 characters, but you do not have to use them — a short, specific headline usually reads better than a long pipe-separated list. Write it so that a stranger who reads only your name and headline understands what you do and who you do it for.

The rest of the writing kit is free too: Free LinkedIn Hook Generator, Free Pinterest Keyword Research Tool and Free Pinterest Board Name Generator.

02 Method

How to use these without sounding like everyone else

A generator gives you options, not a voice. The posts that travel on LinkedIn are the ones only you could have written, so treat every line here as a starting point you rewrite — not copy to paste.

01

Lead with the searchable term

Put the role or skill first. LinkedIn search and the people skimming it both read left to right.

02

Say who you help

A headline that names an audience and an outcome beats a job title on its own.

03

Cut the filler words

Guru, ninja, rockstar and visionary add characters and remove credibility. Specifics do the opposite.

03 Questions

How many characters is a LinkedIn headline?
LinkedIn allows 220 characters in the profile headline. You do not need to use all of them — a shorter, specific headline is usually easier to read in search results and in the feed, where it appears under your name.
Does the LinkedIn headline affect search?
Yes. The headline is one of the fields LinkedIn search weighs when matching a profile to a query, alongside your job titles and skills. Putting the role or skill you want to be found for near the front helps.
Should my headline just be my job title?
It can be, but you are leaving room on the table. A job title says what you are called; adding who you help or what you deliver says why someone should click. Keep the searchable title in there either way.
Will changing my headline notify my network?
Editing your headline alone does not send the "started a new position" update that adding a job does. If you want to avoid notifications entirely, turn off "Share profile updates with your network" in your profile settings before editing.
