About this tool
A pin designer that stays out of your way
This is the same pin editor PinBoostr members use, opened up as a free tool: templates built for the 2:3 shape, text that fits its box as you type, snapping guides, layers, undo, and a dashed safe area that shows where Pinterest's buttons cover a pin on a phone.
Everything happens on your device. Photos you add are never uploaded, and the PNG or JPG is drawn by your browser with the same renderer PinBoostr uses to publish pins, so the download matches what you see.
Short on photos? Paste one of your blog posts under Photos and the designer pulls in its title and images. Pins that point to a real post, with a clear headline and your own photo, are the ones worth making.
How it works
Four steps, about a minute
- 1
Pick a template
Start from a ready 2:3 design, or from the blank starter. Filter templates by niche.
- 2
Make it yours
Double-click text to type your headline, swap in your photo, change fonts and colours, add shapes and icons.
- 3
Check the safe area
Keep the headline inside the dashed guide so nothing important sits under Pinterest's buttons on a phone.
- 4
Download
Save a PNG or JPG at full size. Your pin is drawn on your device, so it is ready in seconds.

Pin sizes and files
- Standard, 1000 × 1500The 2:3 shape Pinterest recommends for pins. Every template starts here.
- Square, 1000 × 1000Fine for products and quotes. Smart resize re-flows a design to it.
- Classic long, 1000 × 1920Taller pins can be cut off in the feed, so keep the key words near the top.
- PNGSharpest text and flat colour. The better pick for text-heavy pins.
- JPGA smaller file, good for photo-led pins.
- Template file (.pbt.json)Your design as a reusable PinBoostr template. Import it in the app's template editor.
Questions
Asked often
Is this pin maker really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no download limit, because the pin is drawn by your own browser rather than on our servers.
What size should a Pinterest pin be?
Use a 2:3 shape: 1000 × 1500 pixels is the standard. Pinterest may cut off pins taller than that in the feed, which is why every template here starts at 1000 × 1500.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Photos you add stay in your browser and are forgotten when you close the page. If you use "Start from your blog post", PinBoostr reads that public page to find its title and photos, and a photo your browser cannot load directly is fetched through PinBoostr for the download.
PNG or JPG?
PNG keeps text and flat colour sharpest; JPG makes a smaller file and suits photo-heavy pins. Pinterest accepts both.
Can I save my design?
Download the template file (.pbt.json). In PinBoostr, open the template editor and use Import JSON to keep it as a template; its photo slots then take each post's own photo.
Does PinBoostr post pins for me?
PinBoostr can design pins from each new post and schedule them to your boards, but you approve every pin before it is posted. Nothing goes out under your name without your OK.
