If you can't see your Pins on Pinterest, the cause is usually one of six things: the board is private, archived or deleted, you are logged in to a second account, you are looking at the wrong profile tab, the app cache is stale, or Pinterest removed or limited the content under its Community Guidelines. If your Pins exist but nobody else seems to see them, that is a distribution problem, not a display bug, and the fixes are different. Everything below is based on what the Pinterest Help Center and policy pages document as of October 2026.

Your Pins are on a private (secret) board

Only you and the people you invite can see a private board, so its Pins never show on your public profile. To check, open the board, click the ellipsis next to its name, choose Edit board and look at the Make this board private toggle. Turn it off to make the board public. Saving to a private board also does not notify the original pinner or raise the Pin's save count.

You are on the wrong tab or the wrong account

  • Created vs Saved (business accounts): the Created tab holds Pins you make on Pinterest and Pins saved from your claimed website. Pins you saved from anywhere else live under Saved. If you only see Created, click Saved to get back to your boards.
  • Board tabs: a board can open on a More ideas tab. Tap All saves to see the Pins you actually saved.
  • Second account: Pinterest notes you can accidentally create a second account by signing in with Google or Apple. Log out and back in with the method you first used.

The board was archived or deleted

Archived boards are hidden from your public profile and sit at the bottom of your profile, below your other boards; you can unarchive them at any time. A deleted board can be restored for seven days from the Recently deleted section of your Saved tab (desktop and Android). Deleted Pins cannot be recovered. If a group board is missing, you may have left it or been removed, so ask the owner to invite you back.

Your profile is private, or it is a teen account

A personal account can be set to Private profile under Settings, Profile visibility. A private profile does not appear in Pinterest search results or in search engines. Business accounts are always public. Teen accounts work differently: profiles for 13 to 15 year olds are private and cannot be made public, and users 16 or older can choose to go public.

Do not confuse this with Search privacy, which only asks search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo to leave your profile and boards out of their results. You must be 18 or older to change it.

The app is showing stale data

In the app, open your profile, go to settings (business accounts: ellipsis, then Settings), tap Privacy and data and tap Clear app cache. On the web, clear your browser's cache and cookies, then log in again.

How to check if other people can see a Pin

Pinterest does not offer an "indexed" status for Pins, so test what a stranger sees:

  1. Open a private or incognito window, stay logged out and visit your profile and the Pin's URL. If the Pin loads there, it is public.
  2. Search Pinterest for your exact Pin title or a distinctive keyword from it. Not appearing for one search does not mean the Pin is hidden; Pinterest decides which Pins to show for each query.
  3. Open the Pin from your Created tab and check Pin stats. Impressions above zero mean Pinterest is showing it to people. Pinterest labels recent figures as estimates that can change.

New Pins that are not getting views yet

Pinterest says there is no fixed engagement window: a Pin can pick up engagement hours, days, months or even years after it is published, and older Pins can suddenly gain traction. It does not publish a set indexing time, so be wary of anyone quoting one. What Pinterest does list as affecting distribution: working links, images and text that match the landing page, letting Pinterestbot access your site, a domain that loads in under four seconds, original content rather than repeated saves, clear titles and descriptions, relevant boards, and seasonal or trending topics. For how these signals fit together, see how the Pinterest algorithm works.

Content removed or limited under the Community Guidelines

Pinterest's Community Guidelines (last updated May 2026) say it may "remove, limit, or block the distribution" of content that breaks its rules, depending on how much harm it poses. If a Pin was removed, Pinterest says to check your email for the explanation.

Is it a shadowban?

Pinterest's Help Center and Community Guidelines do not use the term "shadowban". What they document is removal, limited distribution, blocked links, temporary rate limits and account deactivation for guideline violations. Work from those documented causes rather than guessing at hidden penalties.

The spam section of the guidelines tells you not to create or save "repetitive, deceptive, or irrelevant" content to make money, not to link to unsafe or unoriginal websites, not to stuff irrelevant keywords, and not to redirect existing Pins to new destinations. Pinterest also warns that repeatedly saving the same Pins can be flagged as spam, and it may block links that redirect, use abused shorteners or contain spammy content. You can fix the link on a Pin you created by editing the Website field.

Repeating one action many times in a short period (logging in, commenting, following, or saving lots of Pins from the same website quickly) can trigger a temporary rate limit block. Wait a few minutes; most limits lift automatically within 24 hours. If your links are flagged, read "this link may lead to spam" and test URLs with the free Pinterest link checker. If the whole account is affected, see what to do when your Pinterest account is suspended.

Your Pins are visible, but reach dropped

If Pins load for logged-out visitors yet impressions fell across your whole account, nothing is hidden: distribution changed. Work through why your Pinterest reach dropped before deleting or re-uploading anything, because deleted Pins cannot be recovered.

How to contact Pinterest support

Go to the Pinterest Help Center contact page, or use the "Still need help? Contact us" link at the bottom of any Help Center article, and pick the topic closest to your problem. If your account was deactivated and you think that was a mistake, Pinterest asks you to contact it the same way. Include the Pin or board URL, your username and screenshots of what you see logged in and logged out.

Publishing without the spam patterns

Most self-inflicted visibility problems come from repetition: the same link, the same board, the same Pin, too often. PinBoostr prepares pins from your own site, nothing posts until you approve it, and approved pins publish through the official Pinterest API, spaced across the week with per-link, per-board and per-keyword caps and a gradual warm-up for new accounts. It cannot guarantee reach, and no tool can. For the wider question, read is Pinterest automation safe.

FAQ

Why can't people see my Pinterest pins?

The most common reasons are a private board, a private personal profile, or a teen account, which is private by default. Open your profile in a logged-out incognito window to see exactly what other people see.

Why are my created Pins not showing on my profile?

On a business account, Pins you make or save from your claimed website appear on the Created tab, and everything else is under Saved. Also check that you are in the right account and clear the app cache.

Does Pinterest shadowban accounts?

Pinterest does not use the term. It documents removing content, limiting its distribution, blocking links, temporary rate limits and deactivating accounts that violate its guidelines.

How long does it take for a new Pin to show up in Pinterest search?

Pinterest does not publish a fixed time. It says Pins have no set engagement window and can gain traction hours, days or even years after they are published.

Why are my Pinterest pins not getting views?

If the Pin is visible when you are logged out, the issue is distribution. Pinterest points to link quality, matching Pin and landing page content, original Pins, site speed, relevance and seasonality.

Can I get a deleted Pin back?

No. Pinterest says deleted Pins cannot be recovered. A deleted board can be restored within seven days from the Recently deleted section on desktop or Android.
