Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the PinBoostr website, web dashboard, mobile app, and browser extension. We collect the following information when you use PinBoostr:

• Account information: Your name, email address, password authentication details, verification status, plan, and account settings.
• Login information: Authentication tokens used to keep you signed in. In the mobile app, tokens are stored on your device using secure device storage where available.
• Google sign-in data: If you choose Google sign-in, we receive the account information Google provides for authentication, such as your email address and profile name.
• Pinterest data: Access tokens, account identifiers, usernames, profile images, board names, pin data, scheduling data, and analytics obtained via Pinterest's official OAuth 2.0 API, used solely to power scheduling, account management, and analytics features.
• Instagram data: If you connect an Instagram professional (Business or Creator) account, we receive through Meta's official Instagram API with Instagram Login: an access token, your Instagram account identifiers, username, name, profile picture, account type, and follower, following and post counts. If you grant the related permissions, Meta also sends us notifications about comments, @mentions and direct messages on your connected account, including the message or comment text and the sender's Instagram identifier. This data is used solely to display your account and its activity in PinBoostr and to publish content you choose.
• Instagram posts you create: Drafts and scheduled posts (captions, first comments, tags, collaborators, schedule times) and the photos and videos you upload for them. Media files are stored only until the post is published, then deleted, except one small thumbnail kept for your planner history. Published-post history is kept for up to one year.
• Instagram automation data: If you turn on automated replies, we store the automations you create (triggers, keywords and messages) and, for each person your automations interact with, a contact record on your behalf: their Instagram-scoped ID, username and name, when they last messaged you, whether they follow your account, tags you apply, and any email address or phone number they choose to type in reply. We also keep a log of automation runs, sends and link clicks so you can see results. PinBoostr processes this contact data only to run your automations and show it to you; it is never used for our own marketing and never shared with other PinBoostr customers.
• Content and scheduling data: Pin titles, descriptions, source URLs, rendered image URLs, selected boards, approval status, scheduled times, posted times, and related error messages.
• Usage and device data: Pages or screens visited, features used, app client type, timezone, browser or device information, IP address, and error logs to operate and improve the service.
• Payment information: Processed securely through Dodo Payments, Inc., our Merchant of Record. We do not store credit card numbers, payment credentials, or full billing details.

• To provide, maintain, and improve the PinBoostr service.
• To schedule pins and sync with your Pinterest account on your behalf.
• To show your connected Pinterest accounts, scheduled jobs, and analytics in the dashboard and mobile app.
• To connect the Instagram accounts you authorize, show their profile details and recent comment, mention and message activity, and publish content you choose to Instagram.
• To send the automated Instagram replies you set up. Automations only answer people who commented on your posts or messaged your account first, only within the time limits Instagram allows, and pause when you reply to someone yourself.
• To send transactional emails, including scheduling confirmations, billing notices, and account updates.
• To contact you about product updates and support. You can opt out of marketing emails anytime.
• To detect abuse, troubleshoot errors, protect accounts, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We share data only with:

• Pinterest: Required to post pins and read analytics via their official API.
• Meta Platforms, Inc. (Instagram): Required to connect your Instagram account, publish content you approve, and receive comment and message notifications via Meta's official API. See the Instagram Privacy Policy.
• Google: Used for Google sign-in when you choose that option, and for Google Analytics on the website.
• Dodo Payments, Inc.: Our Merchant of Record and payment provider, who processes payments, tax and VAT, receipts, invoices, refunds, disputes, and order management for Dodo-processed transactions. See the Dodo Payments Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymized data about how visitors interact with our website, including pages viewed, session duration, and traffic sources. Google may process this data on servers in the United States. See Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Infrastructure and communication providers: Hosting, database, email, support, and operational services that help us operate the platform, with data processing agreements where required.
• App stores: Apple and Google may process app download, purchase, crash, review, or store account information under their own privacy policies when you use their app stores.

The PinBoostr mobile app connects to the same PinBoostr account and API used by the web dashboard.

• The app asks for your camera and photos only when you choose to take or pick a photo for a pin, and for notifications only if you turn them on. It never asks for your contacts, precise location, or microphone.
• The app stores your login token locally so you can stay signed in. You can remove it by logging out or deleting the app.
• The app sends requests to PinBoostr over HTTPS and identifies itself as the mobile app client.
• Usage and diagnostics: to improve the app, it sends PinBoostr information about how it is used and how it performs: screens opened, features used (for example approving a pin or opening the plans screen), app errors and crashes, slow or failed requests, the app version, and device details (device model and maker, operating system, screen size, memory, light or dark mode, text size, whether notifications are on) plus your approximate country, taken from the network your request comes through. Your IP address is not stored. It uses a random install ID created by the app, not an advertising ID, and is linked to your PinBoostr account when you are signed in. This data goes only to PinBoostr's own servers; no third-party analytics or advertising tools are used. Detailed events are deleted after 90 days and only daily totals are kept. You can turn this off at any time in the app under Settings › Share usage data.
• The app does not collect data in the background for advertising or tracking purposes, and it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

The PinBoostr extension for Google Chrome lets you create pins from the web page you are viewing. Installing it is optional, and this section applies only if you use it. It works with the PinBoostr account you connect to it, except the page check, which needs no account.

What it can access

• Only the page you open it on, after you click. The extension reads a page only when you click its toolbar icon, choose "Create a pin from this image" or "Create a pin from this page" from the right-click menu, or press Alt+Shift+P, and only in that tab (Chrome's "activeTab" permission). It does not read your browsing history, your other tabs, or pages you have not opened it on.
• PinBoostr's own servers. It connects only to app.pinboostr.com, to keep your PinBoostr account connected and to send what you choose to save. It does not send data to any other service.
• All sites, only if you turn on the floating button. The floating button is off by default. Turning it on asks Chrome for access to the sites you visit so the button can appear on them; the extension still reads a page only when you use it. Turning the button off removes that access.
• Never pinterest.com. The extension does not run on Pinterest or read Pinterest pages. Pins are published through Pinterest's official API, and only after you approve them.

What is sent to PinBoostr, and when

The page title, description and URL, and the image you choose (its address, or the image itself when the site does not let PinBoostr download it), are sent to PinBoostr when you save a draft, schedule a pin, preview a pin template, run "Write with AI", or add a site to your account. When you are signed in and open the popup or Create a pin on a page, or click "Show my pins for this post" in the sidebar or the floating post card, the page's address is sent so PinBoostr can show the pins you already have for it. Nothing is sent as you move from page to page. When you look up keywords (the Keywords tab, or "Keyword ideas" on a post), only the topic you type or pick is sent, and only when you click Find, Check or Keyword ideas; on paid plans, Check looks the topic up in Pinterest Trends through your own connected Pinterest account. What you save is kept with your account like any pin you create in the dashboard (see section 1). The page check ("Pin check") and the post analysis ("This post on Pinterest", also in the floating post card) run entirely in your browser and send nothing to PinBoostr.

What is stored in your browser

A connection token that keeps the extension signed in to your PinBoostr account, your account name and email, and your settings: the affiliate tags you enter (your Amazon Associates tag and Shopify tracking parameter), your default Pinterest account, your recently used boards and template, whether the floating button is on, the sites where you hid it, the images in your tray, and the keywords you save in the Keywords tab. This stays in Chrome's extension storage on your device.

How we use it

Information from the extension is used only to provide the features you use in it and in your PinBoostr account. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or show ads in the extension, and people at PinBoostr do not read it unless you ask us to (for example in a support request), it is needed for security, or the law requires it. The extension's use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Disconnecting and deleting

• Disconnect: open the extension's options page and click Disconnect. This revokes the extension's connection to your PinBoostr account and removes the token from your browser.
• Uninstall: removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything it stored in your browser. If you uninstalled it without disconnecting first and want the connection revoked on our side too, email privacy@pinboostr.com.
• Delete your data: delete pins and drafts in the dashboard, or delete your whole account as described on our Data Deletion page.

We use cookies to:

• Keep you logged in using session cookies.
• Analyze usage patterns via Google Analytics cookies such as _ga, _gid, and _gat. These cookies collect anonymized information such as pages visited, session duration, and traffic sources. No personally identifiable information is intentionally sent to Google.

Google Analytics cookies persist for up to 2 years. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or adjusting your browser cookie settings. Some PinBoostr features may not work without session cookies.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide PinBoostr. You may request account deletion by emailing privacy@pinboostr.com or through available account settings.

After a verified deletion request, we remove or anonymize personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal compliance, payment records, tax compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, security, or legitimate business recordkeeping.

Instagram data: Instagram access tokens are kept only while the account stays connected and are renewed automatically. We keep only the 100 most recent comment, mention and message notifications per PinBoostr account. When you disconnect an Instagram account in the dashboard, or remove PinBoostr from your Instagram or Facebook settings, we delete that account's tokens, profile data, activity, automations and contacts immediately and automatically. Automation run logs are deleted after 90 days.

People who message a PinBoostr customer: If you commented on or messaged an Instagram account that uses PinBoostr, that business controls your contact record. Ask the business to remove it, or email privacy@pinboostr.com with your Instagram username and we will delete it.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Revoke Pinterest access at any time from your Pinterest settings or the PinBoostr dashboard.
• Revoke Instagram access at any time from the PinBoostr dashboard or your Instagram settings (Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites).
• Disconnect the PinBoostr browser extension at any time from its options page.
• Export your data where available in dashboard settings.

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted transport over HTTPS, restricted access to production systems, and encrypted storage for Pinterest and Instagram access tokens. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to protect your data.

PinBoostr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the dashboard. Continued use of PinBoostr after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
