The right pin size in 2026
Pinterest recommends a 2:3 image, such as 1000 × 1500 pixels, for standard Pins. Taller images might get cut off in people's feeds, and wide images show small. This checker reads your image's real size and ratio, previews the feed crop, and marks the edges where buttons and titles usually sit.
Pinterest's spec sheet lists PNG or JPEG files up to 20 MB. Titles can be up to 100 characters, though only the first 40 or so may show in the feed, and descriptions up to 500. Square 1:1 images work, but they get less room in the feed than a 2:3 pin.
Pinterest doesn't publish pixel safe zones for standard Pins. The overlay here marks where the Save button, the menu and, on full-screen video, the title and side buttons usually cover the image in today's apps. Treat it as a guide: keep key words away from the bottom edge and the top corners.

What the size check covers
- Aspect ratio2:3 is ideal. 1:1 is fine. Taller than 2:3 may be cut off in the feed. Wider than square shows small.
- Pixel size1000 px wide or more stays sharp on large screens. Below 600 px wide looks soft.
- File type and weightPNG or JPEG up to 20 MB, per Pinterest's spec sheet. WebP may need converting for some tools.
- Feed previewYour pin as a feed tile on desktop and mobile, at the size people actually see it.
- Safe zonesApproximate areas covered by the Save button, menu, title and full-screen video controls.
- TemplateA 1000 × 1500 PNG with the safe-zone guides drawn in, for your design tool.
Questions
Asked often
What is the best Pinterest pin size in 2026?
1000 × 1500 pixels, a 2:3 ratio. It is the size Pinterest recommends for standard Pins and gives the most room in the feed without being cut.
Do long pins still work?
Pinterest says pins taller than 2:3 might get cut off in feeds, so the bottom of a long infographic may be hidden until someone opens it. Put the key message in the top two-thirds.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The checker reads the file in your browser. Nothing is sent to PinBoostr or anyone else.
What size should video pins be?
Vertical 2:3 or 9:16 works best. Pinterest's spec sheet lists videos from 4 seconds to 15 minutes. Keep text away from the bottom quarter, where the title and buttons sit on full-screen video.
Are these safe zones official?
No. Pinterest doesn't publish safe zones for standard Pins. The overlay is based on where today's Pinterest apps place buttons and titles, and it is meant as a guide.
