Pinterest Analytics Tool: See Which Pins, Boards and Pages Bring Visits
A Pinterest analytics tool that shows impressions, saves and link clicks by Pin, board and website page, and finds the Pins people see but rarely click.
On this page
A Pinterest analytics tool shows which Pins, boards and pages earn impressions, saves and clicks, so you know what to make more of. Pinterest's free Analytics covers the basics for business accounts; PinBoostr reads the same numbers through Pinterest's official API and lines them up by board, Pin and website page, then points at the Pins that get seen but not clicked. Below: what Pinterest's own analytics gives you (checked October 29, 2026), what a separate tool should add, and exactly what PinBoostr's analytics shows today, including what it does not.
What Pinterest's free analytics gives you
According to Pinterest's Review Pinterest Analytics article, you need a business account to see analytics. The Overview shows overall performance, performance over time, top boards and top Pins, for the last 30 days by default. You can also:
- pick custom date ranges going back a year and a half, and turn on real-time estimates for the last 48 hours (estimates can change and may go down);
- filter by content type (organic or paid), Pin format, claimed account or website, device, age and gender, and source (your Pins or other Pins);
- export a CSV snapshot of the filtered data;
- see audience metrics: total audience and engaged audience.
It is free and it is the source of truth. If you are new to the numbers, start with our guide to the Pinterest analytics metrics that drive growth.
What a Pinterest analytics tool should add
Pinterest's analytics answers "how did my account do?". The questions that change what you pin next are narrower:
- Which of my pages does Pinterest send visitors to? A blog post with 12 Pins is one asset, not 12.
- Which boards work, on average, per Pin? A big board total can hide a weak average.
- Which Pins are seen a lot but not clicked? Those are the cheapest wins, because Pinterest is already showing them.
- What should I do about it? Numbers that sit next to the scheduler are easier to act on than numbers in a separate tab.
PinBoostr's Pinterest analytics dashboard
PinBoostr's Analytics page reads your account's numbers from Pinterest's official API: impressions, saves, Pin clicks and outbound clicks (shown as link clicks). Choose 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 6 months or the last 12 months. It has five tabs.
Overview
- Metric cards for impressions, saves, link clicks and Pin clicks, each with a small trend line and how it moved between the first and second half of the period.
- Engagement rate: saves, Pin clicks and link clicks divided by impressions.
- Performance over time: a daily chart where you switch each metric on or off. The chart covers up to 90 days, the limit of Pinterest's summary data.
- Best day to post: average impressions for each day of the week, with the strongest day highlighted.
- Board performance for any board you pick, and your top performing Pins.
Boards
A sortable table of every board: total Pins, total views, average views per Pin, total clicks, average clicks, average click-through rate and average save rate. Sorting by average instead of total shows which boards earn per Pin, not just which are biggest.
Pins
A grid of your top Pins for the period, so you can see which designs and titles to repeat with fresh variations.
URLs
This is the view Pinterest does not have. For every page you have pinned through PinBoostr, it adds up the Pins posted, impressions, saves, link clicks and Pin clicks, and works out the click-through rate. Your best pages rise to the top, and those are the pages to make new Pins for.
Click Doctor
Click Doctor lists Pins that Pinterest shows a lot but people rarely visit your site from, and explains why from each Pin's own numbers. One click writes a fresh variant of that Pin, which goes to your approval queue. The live Pin is never edited.
Want to see which of your pages Pinterest actually sends visitors to? Start free for a month, no card needed. Connect your account and the numbers load from Pinterest; new Pins still publish only after you approve them.

- Inside WordPress. With the free PinBoostr WordPress plugin, your admin bar shows Pins published, saves, impressions, link clicks and scheduled Pins.
- Account Health. PinBoostr checks your reach every day, flags a drop as it starts and eases posting while you look into it.

How to use Pinterest analytics to grow
- Claim your website so Pinterest credits your Pins correctly. The free website claim checker confirms it.
- Judge by outbound clicks, not impressions. Impressions say Pinterest showed the Pin; link clicks say someone came to your site.
- Find your top pages in the URLs view and give them fresh Pins with new images and new keyword angles.
- Fix the seen-but-not-clicked Pins. A clearer title on the image, a stronger promise or a better match between Pin and page usually helps more than a new topic.
- Tag your links with the free Pinterest UTM builder so your website analytics shows what Pinterest visitors do after the click.
- Give it time. Pinterest is slow. Our own documented account went from 4.8K impressions and 62 outbound clicks in its first month to 20.07K impressions and 515 clicks in its second (read the case study). That is one account, not a promise.

FAQ
Is there a free Pinterest analytics tool?
Yes. Pinterest Analytics is free with a business account and covers impressions, engagements, saves, Pin clicks, outbound clicks and audience. PinBoostr's analytics comes with its plans, and you can try it free for a month.
What is the best metric in Pinterest analytics?
For a website or shop, outbound clicks, because they are visits to your site. Saves and impressions show reach and interest, but they do not pay the bills on their own.
Can I see Pinterest analytics for each blog post?
Not directly in Pinterest's analytics, which filters by claimed website, not by page. PinBoostr's URLs view groups your Pins by the page they link to and totals the results for each page you pinned through PinBoostr.
Where does PinBoostr get its numbers?
From Pinterest's official API, with your permission. They are the same impressions, saves, Pin clicks and outbound clicks Pinterest records, so small differences from Pinterest's own screens usually come from different date ranges or real-time estimates.
Does PinBoostr show audience demographics?
No. Age, gender, device and audience size are in Pinterest's own analytics. PinBoostr focuses on which Pins, boards and pages bring visits.
