How many people use Pinterest?
640 million people used Pinterest each month in Q2 2026, an all-time high and Pinterest's 11th straight quarter of double-digit user growth. Pinterest counts a monthly active user (MAU) as a logged-in user who visits the site, opens the app or uses a Pinterest browser or site extension, such as the Save button, at least once in the 30 days before the measurement date.
| Region | Q2 2026 MAUs | Q2 2025 MAUs | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Global | 640M | 578M | +11% |
| US and Canada | 106M | 102M | +4% |
| Europe | 157M | 146M | +8% |
| Rest of World | 377M | 329M | +15% |
Pinterest does not publish a separate figure for the US alone, or a country-by-country list. The closest official number for the US is the combined US and Canada region: 106 million MAUs, about 17% of the global total by our calculation.
Is Pinterest still growing?
Yes. Global MAUs grew from 522 million in Q2 2024 to 640 million in Q2 2026, about 23% in two years, and Pinterest said in September 2026 that it has reached record users for 12 straight quarters.
| Quarter | Global MAUs | Revenue |
|---|---|---|
| Q2 2024 | 522M | $854M |
| Q2 2025 | 578M | $998M |
| Q4 2025 | 619M | $1,319M |
| Q1 2026 | 631M | $1,008M |
| Q2 2026 | 640M | $1,180M |
What this means for marketers: most new users are joining outside the US and Canada (Rest of World added 48 million of the 62 million new MAUs year over year), so content that is not tied to one country has a growing audience.
Pinterest revenue and ARPU
Pinterest made $1.18 billion in Q2 2026 and $4.22 billion in full year 2025. Pinterest generates revenue by delivering ads, billed per click, per thousand impressions or per day. Average revenue per user (ARPU) is revenue in a region divided by average MAUs in that region.
| Region | Q2 2026 revenue | Q2 2026 ARPU | Full year 2025 ARPU |
|---|---|---|---|
| Global | $1,180M (+18%) | $1.86 (+7%) | $7.21 |
| US and Canada | $880M (+18%) | $8.30 (+14%) | $30.84 |
| Europe | $213M (+12%) | $1.35 (+4%) | $5.12 |
| Rest of World | $87M (+38%) | $0.23 (+21%) | $0.83 |
Other Q2 2026 figures: a GAAP net loss of $46.7 million, Adjusted EBITDA of $311.3 million (26% margin) and free cash flow of $269.9 million. Full year 2025 GAAP net income was $417 million. For Q3 2026, Pinterest guided to revenue of $1,190 million to $1,210 million, 13% to 15% growth.
What this means for marketers: the US and Canada region holds about 17% of users but produced about 75% of Q2 2026 revenue, so advertisers spend far more per user on North American audiences than anywhere else.
Pinterest demographics: age, gender and Gen Z
Gen Z share
Gen Z is more than half of Pinterest's audience and its largest, fastest-growing group, according to Pinterest's September 2026 Newsroom post. Pinterest Business puts the figure at 50% of the global user base (Pinterest internal data, Q2 2025). Pinterest also reports that Gen Z searches and saves more than other generations (global analysis, 2023) and that the main reason Gen Z uses Pinterest is to find information about products or brands (Talk Shoppe study commissioned by Pinterest, US, April 2023).
Gender
Pinterest's Q2 2026 quarterly filing says women make up "a significant majority" of its total user base. It does not give a global percentage. The most specific official split is for the United Kingdom: 70% women and 28% men among adults 18+ (Comscore, November 2023, shown on Pinterest Business).
Age
Pinterest Business publishes reach by age for the UK only: it reaches 39% of people aged 18 to 24, 31% of 25 to 34, 29% of 35 to 44 and 30% of people 45 and over (Comscore, November 2023).
What this means for marketers: the audience is young and mostly female but not narrow. Write pins for people researching products and ideas, not only for one age group.
Pinterest search statistics
People make more than 80 billion searches a month on Pinterest, more than half of them commercial, and over 96% of searches are unbranded (Pinterest Newsroom, September 2026). Pinterest also cited more than 80 billion monthly searches in its Q4 2025 earnings release (February 2026). An earlier Pinterest analysis of the top 1,000 searches (global, June 2023) gave the same 96% unbranded share.
What this means for marketers: people search for the thing they want, not the brand selling it, so a small brand can rank by matching the words people type. Our Pinterest keyword research guide shows how to find them.
Pinterest shopping and intent statistics
| Statistic | Figure | Period and source |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly Pinners who feel inspired by Pinterest's shopping experience | 80% | Talk Shoppe for Pinterest, US, Aug 2022 |
| Pins saved every week | 1.5 billion | Pinterest internal data, global, June 2023 (12-month weekly average) |
| Users who think of Pinterest as a place to shop | More than 50% | GfK for Pinterest, weekly Pinners, US, Nov 2018 |
These are the newest shopping figures Pinterest still publishes on its Business and Newsroom pages. Some are several years old, so treat them as direction rather than current measurement.
What this means for marketers: people arrive on Pinterest while planning and buying, so pins that lead to a useful page, product or guide fit how the platform is used.
Pinterest ads and audience reach
Pinterest earns revenue by showing ads on its website, app and, since it bought the connected TV ad platform tvScientific on February 17, 2026, on connected TV. No country other than the US produced more than 10% of revenue in the periods covered by its Q2 2026 filing. Pinterest does not publish a single global ad reach figure; the reach numbers it shares are the UK age figures above.
What this means for marketers: organic pins and ads compete for the same feed, so measure your own reach in Pinterest Analytics instead of relying on platform averages.
Pinterest trend statistics
Pinterest Predicts, the yearly trend report, named 21 trends for 2026 and said 67% of them are driven by Gen Z. Pinterest says its predictions have proven 88% accurate over the past six years (Pinterest Newsroom, December 9, 2025).
What this means for marketers: Pinterest builds these trends from its own search and engagement data, so they are a useful planning signal. Check rising topics with the free Pinterest trend finder before planning seasonal content.
How we sourced these statistics
Every figure on this page comes from Pinterest itself: quarterly earnings releases and the Q2 2026 Form 10-Q (as published on investor.pinterestinc.com and filed with the SEC), the Pinterest Newsroom and Pinterest Business pages. Where Pinterest cites a third-party study, we name it and its date. Percentages described as "our calculation" are simple divisions of Pinterest's published numbers. We left out widely repeated figures we could not trace to a Pinterest source, such as a global gender percentage or users by country. We will update this page when Pinterest reports its Q3 2026 results.
Turning these numbers into traffic
A growing, search-led audience rewards steady, keyword-led pinning more than bursts of activity. PinBoostr's Growth Brain scans your site, picks pages worth pinning and prepares branded pins with keyword-led titles and descriptions. Nothing posts until you approve it, and approved pins go out through the official Pinterest API, spaced across the week.
