About this tool

Recipe pins people save

Recipe pins work when the food fills the frame and the recipe name reads at a glance on a phone. These templates keep the photo large, put the name in a solid band so it stays legible on busy photos, and leave space for your site name.

Paste a recipe post under Photos to pull in its title and photos, or upload your own shots. Nothing is uploaded to us; the pin is drawn in your browser.

Make two or three versions for the same recipe with different photos or headlines, and point each at the recipe post itself rather than your homepage.

How it works

Four steps, about a minute

  1. 1

    Pick a template

Start from a ready 2:3 design, or from the blank starter. Filter templates by niche.

  2. 2

    Make it yours

Double-click text to type your headline, swap in your photo, change fonts and colours, add shapes and icons.

  3. 3

    Check the safe area

Keep the headline inside the dashed guide so nothing important sits under Pinterest's buttons on a phone.

  4. 4

    Download

Save a PNG or JPG at full size. Your pin is drawn on your device, so it is ready in seconds.

Pin sizes and files

  • Standard, 1000 × 1500The 2:3 shape Pinterest recommends for pins. Every template starts here.
  • Square, 1000 × 1000Fine for products and quotes. Smart resize re-flows a design to it.
  • Classic long, 1000 × 1920Taller pins can be cut off in the feed, so keep the key words near the top.
  • PNGSharpest text and flat colour. The better pick for text-heavy pins.
  • JPGA smaller file, good for photo-led pins.
  • Template file (.pbt.json)Your design as a reusable PinBoostr template. Import it in the app's template editor.

Questions

Asked often

What makes a good recipe pin?

A close, well-lit photo of the finished dish, a short recipe name in large type, and one detail that helps people decide, such as "30 minutes" or "one pan". Keep it inside the safe area.

Should the recipe name match my post title?

It should describe the same recipe, but it can be shorter. Rich pins pull the post's own title and ingredients from your recipe card, so the image can stay simple.

Is this pin maker really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no download limit, because the pin is drawn by your own browser rather than on our servers.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Photos you add stay in your browser and are forgotten when you close the page. If you use "Start from your blog post", PinBoostr reads that public page to find its title and photos, and a photo your browser cannot load directly is fetched through PinBoostr for the download.

Does PinBoostr post pins for me?

PinBoostr can design pins from each new post and schedule them to your boards, but you approve every pin before it is posted. Nothing goes out under your name without your OK.
