Pinterest for WooCommerce: Get Your Products Pinned (2026)
How to get WooCommerce products on Pinterest: what the free Pinterest for WooCommerce extension syncs, what it needs, and how to add fresh Pins you approve.
On this page
There are two ways to get WooCommerce products onto Pinterest, and most stores benefit from both. The free Pinterest for WooCommerce extension syncs your product catalog and adds the Pinterest tag; a Pin tool like PinBoostr turns your product pages and blog posts into fresh, designed Pins that you approve before they publish. This guide covers what the extension does and needs (checked on WooCommerce's documentation on October 29, 2026), what it leaves out, and how PinBoostr works with a WooCommerce store.
What the Pinterest for WooCommerce extension does
According to WooCommerce's documentation, the extension:
- syncs your WooCommerce catalog to Pinterest, so people can browse your products from your Pinterest shop;
- adds a Save to Pinterest button to product, post and archive pages;
- installs the Pinterest tag and the Conversions API to track events and conversions;
- adds Rich Pins for products and posts, using your pages' Open Graph data.
You set it up under WP Admin, Marketing, Pinterest. The extension regenerates its product feed every 10 minutes, Pinterest picks the feed up every 24 hours, and the first sync can take up to 24 hours.
What it needs
- A Pinterest business account.
- Your website claimed and verified on that account. A "coming soon" or maintenance page blocks verification.
- A Pinterest ads account for the country you target, plus billing information. The setup flow prompts you to create them.
What it leaves out
- Simple and variable products sync. Grouped, subscription, hidden, private, draft and free (0-price) products are excluded by default, and out-of-stock products drop out if WooCommerce hides them.
- Only Free Shipping and Flat Rate shipping are supported.
- Stores with more than 100,000 products may see a truncated feed.
- Your blog posts, buying guides and category pages are not part of a product catalog.
Catalog Pins vs fresh Pins: why stores use both
A catalog turns each product into a product Pin with its price and availability kept in sync. That is the shopping side of Pinterest. Organic search on Pinterest also rewards fresh Pins: new images and new keyword angles for the same product, such as a styled room shot, a gift guide Pin or a "how to use it" Pin. A catalog gives you one product Pin per product. Fresh Pins are how one product reaches many different searches.

How PinBoostr works with a WooCommerce store
WooCommerce runs on WordPress, so PinBoostr connects in the same ways it does for any WordPress site.
With the WordPress plugin
The free PinBoostr WordPress plugin syncs every public content type on your site by default, and WooCommerce products are a public content type. New and updated products and posts reach PinBoostr seconds after you publish them. You can limit the sync to the types you choose, such as products only, and exclude single items.
With your sitemap
No plugin? Add your store's address and PinBoostr finds the sitemap on its own. It reads the sitemap listed in robots.txt and checks the usual addresses, including WordPress's own wp-sitemap.xml and the product-sitemap.xml that popular SEO plugins create. You can also paste a sitemap address yourself.
Then Growth Brain prepares Pins
- Growth Brain scores your synced pages and picks products and posts worth pinning.
- It writes keyword-led titles and descriptions and designs fresh Pins in your brand colors.
- You review the week's Pins, edit any of them and approve them one by one, a day at a time or all at once.
- Approved Pins publish through the official Pinterest API, paced per link, board and day.
For a launch or a sale, Pin Lab makes Pins for many product pages at once, from a list of links or a CSV, and the free Chrome extension makes a Pin from the product page you are looking at.
Want fresh Pins for your products without designing each one? Start free for a month, no card needed. PinBoostr drafts the Pins from your store, and you approve every Pin before it goes live.
Setting up WooCommerce for Pinterest, step by step
- Create or convert to a business account. See our business account guide.
- Claim your store's domain. Check it with the free website claim checker.
- Turn on Rich Pins so Pinterest reads your product title and description. The free Rich Pin validator shows what Pinterest can read. Our Rich Pins guide explains the setup.
- Install Pinterest for WooCommerce if you want catalog sync and conversion tracking, and wait for Pinterest to review the catalog.
- Plan boards by how people shop, such as "Gift Ideas for Gardeners" or "Small Kitchen Storage", not by your internal category names.
- Add fresh Pins every week for your best products, gift guides and how-to posts, with PinBoostr or by hand.
- Plan seasons early. Pinterest's 2026 holiday guide says its data shows holiday activity starting as early as September, and advises going live between September and November.
Mistakes that hold WooCommerce stores back on Pinterest
- Only the catalog. One Pin per product, never refreshed, reaches only the searches its product title matches.
- Supplier photos. Many stores sell the same product with the same image. Your own photos and designs stand out. See which images you can legally use.
- Pinning in bursts. A hundred product Pins on launch day, then nothing, works worse than a steady few a day.
- Broken links after a sale. Deleted or redirected product pages break every Pin that points to them. Redirect to the closest live product.

FAQ
Is Pinterest for WooCommerce free?
The extension is installed from the WordPress plugin directory. Catalog setup asks for a Pinterest ads account and billing information, but organic Pins themselves are free. Check WooCommerce's documentation for current terms.
Does PinBoostr work with WooCommerce?
Yes. Connect the store with the free WordPress plugin, which syncs WooCommerce products along with your posts, or add your store's address and PinBoostr reads its sitemap. You approve every Pin before it publishes.
Do I need the Pinterest for WooCommerce extension to use PinBoostr?
No. They do different jobs. The extension handles catalog sync and conversion tracking; PinBoostr creates and schedules fresh Pins from your pages. Many stores use both.
How often should a store pin products?
A steady few fresh Pins a day beats bursts. PinBoostr's plans allow up to 20 Pins a day on Starter and 60 on Growth, and new accounts start lower. See how many Pins per day.
Can PinBoostr pin my WooCommerce blog posts too?
Yes. Blog posts, buying guides and product pages all sync from the same site, and they often bring the most search traffic.
