Since September 25, 2026, Tailwind sells three Pinterest-only plans, each priced per Pinterest account and paid for with monthly credits. Pin Scheduling & Creation costs $29.99 a month ($17.99 billed yearly) for 300 credits. Scheduling one pin costs 1 credit and an AI SmartPin costs 3 or 7. Unused credits expire each month.
We checked every figure on this page against Tailwind's own pricing page and help center on October 6, 2026. PinBoostr competes with Tailwind, so we link the sources: check them before you decide.
Tailwind's 2026 plans at a glance
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly | Credits a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pin Scheduling & Creation | $29.99 | $17.99/mo | 300 |
| Pinterest SEO | $14.99 | $11.99/mo | 50 |
| Pinterest Engagement | $14.99 | $11.99/mo | 50 |
| Bundle (all three) | $44.98 | $29.98/mo | 400 |
Every price is for one Pinterest account. In Tailwind's words: "If you manage more than one Pinterest account, each account has its own subscription and its own credits." The free option is a one-time trial per account (10 scheduled pins, 5 SmartPin generations, 5 Ghostwriter generations, 5 keyword searches and 3 Turbo boosts) that doesn't reset.
What each action costs in credits
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Schedule a pin | 1 |
| SmartPin (AI pin), basic | 3 |
| SmartPin (AI pin), premium | 7 |
| Ghostwriter text | 1 |
| Keyword search or board keyword check | 1 |
| Turbo boost for 30 / 60 / 90 days | 7 / 12 / 15 |
| Extra credits | 100 for $10 |
These are Tailwind's rates "as of September 29, 2026". Tailwind says costs "may change over time", and that "over time, expect to see more features use credits and fewer have hard limits."
What 300 credits actually buy
| How you use the plan | Pins a month | About per day |
|---|---|---|
| Schedule pins you designed yourself | 300 | 10 |
| Basic SmartPin + scheduling (4 credits each) | 75 | 2.5 |
| Basic SmartPins, plus 30 keyword searches | 67 | 2.2 |
| Premium SmartPin + scheduling (8 credits each) | 37 | 1.2 |
This is our arithmetic from Tailwind's published rates, not a Tailwind figure. Tailwind's own guidance is about 1 to 5 fresh pins a day, so a blogger who lets SmartPin make every pin sits right at the edge of the plan. Busy weeks mean top-ups at $10 per 100 credits.
The cost with more than one Pinterest account
| Pinterest accounts | Pin Scheduling & Creation, monthly | Same, billed yearly | Bundle, monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $29.99 | $17.99/mo | $44.98 |
| 2 | $59.98 | $35.98/mo | $89.96 |
| 3 | $89.97 | $53.97/mo | $134.94 |
| 5 | $149.95 | $89.95/mo | $224.90 |
Figures are before any top-ups, and each account gets its own credits. This is the change that hits bloggers with several sites hardest.
Check these before your next renewal
- Legacy plans can't come back. Older plans keep their monthly post allowance while they stay active, but "if you cancel or downgrade to Free, your legacy plan ends and can't be restarted." Decide before the renewal date, not after.
- Instagram and Facebook stay on legacy plans. "The current plans are for Pinterest." If you schedule those networks through Tailwind, a new plan won't cover them.
- Auto-refill. Tailwind's credits article says that before August 20, 2026 "there was no way to see or switch off automatic refills", and plans bought before that date keep auto-refill on. Check your setting.
- Credits can drain in the background. SmartPin can "use credits on their own schedule, so your balance can go down even when you're not logged in."
- Refunds and reminders. Tailwind's cancel article says "no refunds are provided for unused subscription time" and warns that a renewal reminder may not reach your inbox. Put the date in your own calendar.
When staying on Tailwind makes sense
- Your legacy plan still covers what you post. Once it ends you can't get it back.
- You schedule Instagram or Facebook through Tailwind.
- You rely on Turbo, Tailwind's engagement network, or on posting one pin to several boards at once.
- You design every pin yourself and only need scheduling: 300 credits schedule about 10 pins a day.
How PinBoostr prices the same job
PinBoostr doesn't charge credits for scheduling. Starter is $19.99 a month ($199 a year) for one Pinterest account and one website, with up to 15 pins a day, 150 AI pin images and 250 AI text generations a month. Growth is $39.99 a month ($399 a year) for three accounts and three websites. Like Tailwind, PinBoostr limits accounts by plan, so compare on the number of accounts you actually run. There is a free plan you can keep, and a full refund within 14 days of any purchase or renewal.
The workflow differs too. Growth Brain prepares a week of pins from your own site, nothing posts until you approve it, and approved pins publish through the official Pinterest API, spaced across the week. Extra AI images can be bought as credits; scheduling never uses them.
