You can earn Amazon commissions from Pinterest, but the safe route depends on how you link. Amazon's Associates help lists the social networks it accepts as Sites, and as of October 29, 2026 Pinterest is not on that list, so the two routes both companies document are Pins that lead to your own website with your Associates links, and Pinterest's Amazon Storefront Linking for members of the Amazon Influencer Program. This guide covers Amazon's rules from its own Operating Agreement and Program Policies, how to add a site to your Associates account, the disclosure to use, the image rule most Pinners break and how Storefront Linking works. Everything was checked on Amazon's and Pinterest's own pages on October 29, 2026.
Three ways to earn from Amazon on Pinterest
| Pin to your own site | Amazon Storefront Linking | Associates link directly on a Pin | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you need | A website or blog in your Associates account | A Pinterest business account and the Amazon Influencer Program | An Associates account that covers your Pinterest use |
| How the link works | Pin goes to your post; your post links to Amazon | You tag Amazon products on your Pin; Pinterest applies your affiliate link | The Pin's destination is your tagged Amazon link |
| Disclosure | The Associates statement on your site, plus a Pin disclosure | Pinterest adds an affiliate disclosure automatically | You write it in the Pin |
| Fit with Amazon's rules | Clear: your website is your Site | Documented by Pinterest and Amazon | Unclear: Pinterest is not on Amazon's accepted social network list |
| Best for | Bloggers and review sites | Creators who post product photos and videos | Only after Associates confirms your Pinterest profile in writing |
Amazon Associates rules that matter on Pinterest
Amazon's terms live in two documents: the Associates Program Operating Agreement (updated October 15, 2025) and the Associates Program Policies (updated April 14, 2026). Its help center adds how applications are reviewed. The rules that touch Pinterest:
- Your "Site". The Operating Agreement covers your "website, social media user-generated content, online software application, or Alexa skill," together called your Site.
- Accepted social networks. Amazon's application review help says: "We currently only accept the following social networks:" Facebook (open groups and fan pages, not personal pages), Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and Twitch.tv. Pinterest is not listed. Social pages should be established, public and, in most cases, have at least 500 organic followers.
- Links only on your Sites. The Policies say you will not create links with your Associates tag for, "or display such links on, a site that is not your Site."
- No cloaking. You "will not cloak, hide, spoof, or otherwise obscure" the URL, and you will not use a link shortener in a way that makes it unclear the link goes to Amazon.
- Prices. You may only show prices and availability when Amazon serves them through its links or APIs. A price typed onto a Pin image goes stale and breaks this rule.
- No offline promotion, such as printed material or ebooks with your links.
- Three sales to stay in. Amazon reviews your application after you drive at least three qualified sales within the first 180 days. Your own orders do not count.
So the clean setup for most Pinners is a website or blog in your Associates account, with Pins that lead to your posts. If you want tagged Amazon links directly on Pins, ask Associates support first and keep the answer. Amazon's help also says rejected applications cannot be reassessed, so read the requirements before you apply. For the full picture of Pinterest's own affiliate rules, see our Pinterest affiliate marketing guide.
How to add your website or Pinterest URL to Amazon Associates
Amazon reviews every Site in your account, so keep the list accurate. To add one, per Amazon's help on adding a new site:
- Sign in to Associates Central.
- Hover over your email address and click Account Settings.
- Click Edit your website list.
- Type the URL under Enter Your Website(s) and click Add.
- Click Next to finish the declaration.
For a social page, Amazon asks for the exact page URL, not just the network's domain. A Pinterest profile URL looks like https://www.pinterest.com/yourusername/. Amazon's reviewers check each listed Site against its requirements, and Pinterest is not among the social networks it says it accepts, so list your website as your main Site.
Amazon Storefront Linking on Pinterest
Pinterest announced Amazon Storefront Linking on June 10, 2026. Creators connect an Amazon Storefront to their Pinterest account, and when they tag an eligible Amazon product on a Pin, "Pinterest will automatically apply their Amazon affiliate information." Your Storefront can also appear on your Pinterest profile. Pinterest says linking with other partners "will be available soon."
Who can use it
- A Pinterest business account, an Amazon Storefront and membership in the Amazon Influencer Program, per Pinterest's Help Center. Pinterest's creator guide says you can be in the program already "or you join using your Pinterest profile."
- Availability: Pinterest says it "is gradually becoming available to creators globally with eligible Pinterest business accounts." If you do not see it, it may not be in your region yet.
How to link your Storefront
- Open your profile and go to Settings.
- Select Link to Pinterest, then Amazon Storefront.
- Tap Link accounts, then sign in to Amazon or create an account.
- Select Allow.
Then, when you create or edit an image or video Pin, choose Tag products, search, pick Amazon as the source and select the products. Pinterest says Pins with affiliate links "will automatically feature an affiliate link disclosure." Its creator guide adds that Amazon may promote your content as an ad on Pinterest at no cost to you. If you have several Storefronts, Pinterest picks the one that matches your account's location.
Do not confuse this with linking a personal Amazon account to Pinterest, which is a shopping feature and earns nothing.
The disclosure format
Amazon's Operating Agreement requires the statement "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases," shown clearly and prominently on your Site. The US FTC adds that disclosures belong where people will see them, and that "paid link" next to a link should be adequate. On a Pin, put it at the start of the description:
Paid link. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Then write the helpful part.
On your blog, put the Associates statement near the top of each post with Amazon links, not only in the footer. With Storefront Linking, Pinterest adds its own disclosure to tagged Pins. Our affiliate marketing guide covers the FTC points in more detail.
The image rule: use your own photos
Amazon's product photos are Program Content. The Policies say you "will not add to, delete from, or otherwise alter any Program Content," and you will not store or cache Product Advertising Content that consists of an image. Downloading an Amazon product photo, adding text to it and uploading it as a Pin does all three. The photo also usually belongs to the brand, not to you.
Pinterest points the same way: its affiliate guidelines say affiliate content "should be original and add unique value for Pinners." Use your own photos and videos of the product in use, a flat lay of several products, or a designed Pin that leads to your review. With Storefront Linking, you tag Amazon products on your own image or video, which fits both rule sets.
What Amazon pays
From Amazon's Standard Commission Income Statement, checked October 29, 2026:
| Category | Rate |
|---|---|
| Luxury Beauty, Luxury Stores Beauty, Amazon Explore | 10% |
| Digital Music, Physical Music, Handmade, Digital Videos | 5% |
| Physical Books, Kitchen, Automotive | 4.5% |
| Apparel, Shoes, Jewelry, Watches, Luggage, Handbags | 4% |
| Toys, Furniture, Home, Home Improvement, Lawn and Garden, Pets, Beauty, Baby, Outdoors | 3% |
| Grocery, Health and Personal Care | 1% |
| All Other Categories | 4% |
A commission session ends 24 hours after the click; items added to the cart in that window still count if the order is completed within 89 days. Low rates are why many Pinners pair Amazon with other programs. Compare 15 options in the best affiliate programs for Pinterest.
Keep your Associates tag on the Pins you create
The PinBoostr Chrome extension turns the page you are on into a Pin with an AI-written title and description. Add your Amazon Associates tag once in its settings and, when you make a Pin from an Amazon product page, the link becomes a clean /dp/ product link with your tag, so you never paste IDs by hand or use a shortener. Use tagged Amazon links on Pins only where your Associates account covers that use; for posts on your own site, the extension pins the post itself. Turn product and affiliate pages into pins you approve: nothing publishes until you approve it, and approved Pins go out through the official Pinterest API.
Mistakes that cost Amazon affiliates on Pinterest
- Shortened or cloaked links. Amazon bans links that hide the destination, and Pinterest's Help Center says it does not allow certain shorteners and redirects. If a link was flagged, read "this link may lead to spam" and how to fix it, and test new links with the free Pinterest link checker.
- Prices on Pin images. They go out of date and break Amazon's price rule.
- Amazon's photos re-uploaded as Pins. See the image rule above.
- Pinning the same product link over and over. Pinterest lists creating affiliate Pins "repetitively or in large volumes" as spam. Make new designs and spread them out.
- No disclosure, or one hidden at the end.

FAQ
Can you use Amazon affiliate links on Pinterest?
Amazon's help lists the social networks it accepts as Sites, and Pinterest is not on it as of October 2026. The documented routes are Pins that lead to your own website with your Associates links, and Pinterest's Amazon Storefront Linking for Amazon Influencer Program members. If you want tagged links directly on Pins, confirm it with Associates support first.
How do I get a Pinterest URL for Amazon Associates?
Your profile URL is https://www.pinterest.com/ followed by your username. Add sites under Account Settings, then Edit your website list. Because Amazon does not list Pinterest as an accepted social network, add your website as your main Site.
Do I need a blog for Amazon affiliate marketing on Pinterest?
Not for Storefront Linking, which works through the Amazon Influencer Program and a Pinterest business account. For Associates links, a website you own is the route that clearly fits Amazon's rules.
Can I use Amazon product images on Pinterest?
Do not download and re-upload them. Amazon's Policies bar altering Program Content and storing its images, and Pinterest wants original affiliate content. Use your own photos or videos.
What disclosure does Amazon require on Pinterest?
Amazon requires "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases," shown clearly and prominently. On a Pin, start the description with "Paid link" and that statement. Storefront Linking adds Pinterest's own disclosure automatically.
What is Amazon Storefront Linking on Pinterest?
A feature Pinterest announced on June 10, 2026. You connect your Amazon Storefront under Settings, Link to Pinterest, Amazon Storefront, and your affiliate link is applied automatically when you tag eligible Amazon products in image or video Pins. Pinterest says it is rolling out gradually to eligible business accounts worldwide.
