How to Connect Etsy to Pinterest: 7 Steps (2026)
Connect Etsy to Pinterest in 7 steps: link Pinterest in Shop Manager, share listings, join Share and Save and make product Pins, plus why Etsy can't be claimed.
On this page
You connect Etsy to Pinterest from the Etsy side: in Shop Manager, go to Marketing, then Social Media, then Social Accounts, and log in to Pinterest. Then share your listings to Pinterest, or pin them yourself, and Pinterest shows their product information automatically because it reads Etsy listings without any markup. What you cannot do is claim your Etsy shop on Pinterest: Pinterest says you are unable to claim online stores hosted on marketplaces like Etsy. Every step below was checked on Etsy's Help Center and Pinterest's Help Center on October 29, 2026.
Can you claim your Etsy shop on Pinterest?
No. Pinterest's claim your website help says that to claim a site "you must own the domain, subdomain or subpath, and you need to be able to edit the source code," and that "as a result, you're unable to claim most social accounts and online stores hosted on marketplaces like Etsy, eBay and Amazon." Older guides describe a "claimed accounts" option for Etsy in Pinterest settings; Pinterest's current help does not offer one, so if you do not see it, nothing is wrong with your account.
What you lose without a claim: Pinterest says claiming is what unlocks website analytics and lets your logo appear on Pins from your site. What still works: your Pins, your Pin stats, and product details on Etsy Pins. If you also run your own website, claim that instead.
How to connect Etsy to Pinterest, step by step
Step 1: Use a Pinterest business account
A business account is free and gives you Pin analytics and Pinterest Trends. If you pin from a personal account, convert it first; our business account guide shows how.
Step 2: Add your Etsy shop to your Pinterest profile
Pinterest's help on adding a website to your profile says to click Edit profile, enter the address under Website and save. Adding a website does not require claiming it. Use your shop address in the yourshopname.etsy.com format, which is also the format Etsy's Share & Save program tracks (Step 4).
Step 3: Connect Pinterest in Etsy's Shop Manager
From Etsy's How to Promote Your Etsy Shop help article:
- On Etsy.com, go to Shop Manager.
- Select Marketing, then Social Media.
- Select Social Accounts.
- Choose Pinterest and follow the login instructions.
This is the "Etsy Pinterest integration" most guides mean: it lets Etsy's social media tool post to your Pinterest account. It does not import your shop into Pinterest or create Pins on its own.
Step 4: Join Share & Save (optional, but worth it)
Etsy's Share & Save program refunds 4% of the eligible order total when a buyer orders within 30 days of clicking a link you shared. Join under Shop Manager, then Marketing, then Share & Save, then Join now. Etsy says trackable listing links come from the listing's Share option, that links must use the yourshopname.etsy.com format, and that links in Etsy Messages or listing descriptions do not count. Your Pins are a natural place for these links.
Step 5: Share a listing to Pinterest from Etsy
- In Shop Manager, select Listings.
- Select the gear icon on the listing you want to share.
- Select Share, then choose Pinterest. You can also copy the link and use it when you create a Pin yourself.
Step 6: Create your own Pins for your listings
Sharing from Etsy uses the listing photo as it is. Pins you design yourself usually work better on Pinterest:
- Make a vertical image. Pinterest recommends a 2:3 ratio, and the free Pinterest image resizer turns a square listing photo into a Pin-sized image.
- On Pinterest, click Create, then Pin, and upload the image.
- Paste the listing link (your Share & Save link if you joined) in the link field.
- Write a title and description in the words buyers search, and choose the board that matches the product.
- Publish, then make another design for the same listing a week or two later instead of re-saving the first one.
Step 7: Check the product details, then track results
Pinterest's product Pins help says: "You do not need to add any markup if your site is hosted by Etsy, Teachers Pay Teachers, or eBay," and that Pins from these sites show product information within 24 hours. That information only shows while the item is in stock and the price is accurate. After a few weeks, compare your Pin stats in Pinterest Analytics with your Etsy shop stats to see which listings Pinterest sends buyers to.
Etsy Offsite Ads on Pinterest
Separately from your own Pins, Etsy may advertise your listings on Pinterest through Offsite Ads. Etsy's Offsite Ads help lists Pinterest among the sites where these ads may appear. You pay a fee only on orders attributed to an ad within 30 days of the click: 15%, or 12% for shops that have made $10,000 or more in a 365-day period. Shops that have never reached $10,000 in any 365-day period can opt out; shops that reach it must stay in. Your own Pins carry no Etsy ad fee, and with Share & Save they can lower your fees.
Ways to get Etsy listings onto Pinterest, compared
| Method | Effort | Pin quality | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Share from Etsy | Low, one listing at a time | Listing photo as it is | Quick; supports Share & Save links |
| Pin manually on Pinterest | Medium | Best, you design each Pin | Hard to keep up across many listings |
| DIY automation (Make, Zapier, n8n) | High to set up | Depends on your images | Needs an approval step; see our DIY Pinterest automation guide |
| PinBoostr | Low | AI-designed vertical Pins | You approve each Pin; posts through the official Pinterest API |
Pin your Etsy listings without designing each one. Open a listing in Chrome and the PinBoostr Chrome extension reads its title, photos and link, then drafts a vertical Pin with an AI-written, keyword-led title and description. Nothing publishes until you approve it, and approved Pins go out through the official Pinterest API.
After you connect: make Pinterest sell
Connecting is the setup. Sales come from steady, keyword-led Pins, boards named the way buyers search, and seasonal Pins published ahead of demand. Our guide on how to promote your Etsy shop on Pinterest covers the strategy, and how to sell on Pinterest covers product Pins and catalogs if you also sell from your own site, such as a Shopify store.
PinBoostr keeps fresh Pins going out for you: it prepares Pins with AI-written titles, descriptions and designs, you approve each Pin, and it publishes them at a steady pace through the official Pinterest API. Start free for a month with no card; plans start at $19.99 a month (pricing).
